We just completed servicing this stove’s cooktop valves/lighted dials, so this stove is not priced at the “As-Is” price of $200. It is now priced at $500.

There are actually a few versions of Tappans’ great DeLuxe model, some fancier than others. So, years ago, we coined this type - the fanciest - as “Madam LaRue” (from the pinball machine mentioned in the song “Big Joe and Phantom 309” by Tommy Faile, performed so darn well by Tom Waits). Funny how when looking at ads for folks all over the country trying to sell their TD’s, they call them “Madam LaRue”. We take that as a compliment.

This TD, which we’ve nicknamed “Diamond Lil”, after her namesake 1950’s pinball machine (CLICK TO SEE), is actually fancier that even the “Madam LaRue”! How is that even possible, you may be asking? It’s possible because THIS version has the exclusive and rare Tappan Air-Freshen’r. Located at the center top of the backsplash, it operated via a small vial of compressed scented gas. Anything for a kitchen that doesn’t smell like a kitchen, right? We’re pretty sure it was perfectly safe, but we’ve discarded the vial due to advice from our legal department.

Of course there’s the usual multiple dazzling lites in the backsplash and dial bezels for each burner. Auto-igniting oven safety system, cute and versatile burner covers/serving trays, rechargeable crisper drawer.
